Manuwai didn't work out at RG
It appears Vince Manuwai's move from left guard to right guard was a failed experiement.
Whispers coming out Jacksonville Municipal Stadium are that Manuwai didn't handle the move well, despite having the prototypical frame (and power) to play right guard for a club whose preference is to run to the right side. Manuwai just wasn't comfortable on the right side.
"When you're switching the line around and you get a new guy in there, like Dennis [Norman moving to center], sometimes it's good to kind of quiet things down by going back to what's familiar and have as few guys changing as possible," Jaguars offensive line coach Andy Heck said.
With Manuwai moving back to left guard, it appears the offensive line for 2008 will be the same one the club used at the end of last season (minus center Brad Meester, if he misses an extended period of time and possibly Khalif Barnes, if he loses out to Richard Collier) with Maurice Williams and Tony Pashos on the right side.
Familiarity isn't necessarily a bad thing, right? What do you think?
