Wright On

Florida Times-Union reporter Michael C. Wright covers the ins and outs of the Jacksonville Jaguars. In this blog, he'll share behind-the-scenes anecdotes not published within the pages of the T-U, in addition to offering up incessant ramblings about nothing such as road trips, crummy hotels and not-so-delicious press box food. Perhaps he'll even delve into serious discussions about NFL issues. So ask questions, participate in conversations, or just learn more about the Jags.

Teal? Black? Who cares!

It appears that Jacksonville is in the national news once again, but for some reason, this doesn't seem to be the type of news Jags fans should be happy about.

In the blog, Mosley calls Wal-mart a fashion outlet? C'mon. Maybe that's true for the majority of the "professionals" (I couldn't find the sarcasm font) on our local radio that seem to be making a bigger deal of this than it really is. The truth is, who cares what fans wear to games? Just come. That's all this franchise needs right now.

The Jaguars suits say fans should wear teal while the players are saying black. Well, the Jags' suits really aren't in the position to tell fans what to wear. They should probably be concentrating on selling tickets. As for the players, do you think they won't play as hard if you don't wear what they want? Probably not.

So just come to the game, make a lot of noise and have a great time watching what should be a great game.

Isn't the phrase "who cares" a question?

We are supposed to believe the World Health Organization cares, but they don't really.

It could mean Who cares as in the British rock group consisting of just Roger Daltry and Peter Townshend now, but that would be The Who. Townshend is very touchy about that.

Oh well, who cares?

It doesn't matter what the fans wear, the Colts are superior. Superior players...superior coaching...superior management.

I hope you saw merely the humor, and not the affront.

Anything to pass along about David?

It appears David will be out for a couple of weeks. The team will probably sign a veteran sometime today. In addition, the team is working on a release as I write this that basically says that Quinn Gray will be the starter next week at Tampa Bay. Stay tuned. We're working on this thing.

Thanks a bunch. Any names mentioned? Bledsoe is interesting.

Bledsoe could be in the mix. Aaron Brooks could also be a possibility. I gave Aaron a call this morning (I know him from my days of working in Newport News, Va., Brooks' hometown) and he said that the Jags haven't contacted him. It'll be interesting. More than likely, the team will bring in a few people tomorrow, based on a few conversations I've had with people inside the organization.
