Wright On

Florida Times-Union reporter Michael C. Wright covers the ins and outs of the Jacksonville Jaguars. In this blog, he'll share behind-the-scenes anecdotes not published within the pages of the T-U, in addition to offering up incessant ramblings about nothing such as road trips, crummy hotels and not-so-delicious press box food. Perhaps he'll even delve into serious discussions about NFL issues. So ask questions, participate in conversations, or just learn more about the Jags.

Hanson released

The Jaguars released punter Chris Hanson on Tuesday. A six-year veteran, Hanson became expendable once the club selected Maryland punter Adam Podlesh on Sunday during the fourth round of the NFL Draft.

Just getting the hang of this thing

I accidentally deleted all the comments. I apologize.

Here's my response to an earlier poster on the last thread:

Very thoughtful post about Quinn not winning the big games. The knock on him is that he's folded in big games. The criticism, in many ways, is warranted based on his history.

The draft has ended

Now I can finally go home. Vito and I worked on Saturday until about midnight, but we should be done pretty soon.

So how would you grade the Jaguars' 2007 draft? Write in and let me know.

Our columnist Gene Frenette will grade the draft of all 32 teams in tomorrow's Florida Times-Union. So stay tuned for more draft coverage.

Del Rio wanted Quinn

Believe it or not, it's true.

Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio didn't specifically say that he wanted to draft Brady Quinn in the first round on Saturday. But in a read-between-the-lines kind of way, he hinted that he wanted to draft Quinn, but everyone in the club's warroom didn't agree.

If you want to know more about it, read Vito Stellino's story in tomorrow's Florida Times-Union. It's likely to stir up some debate.

Nelson arrives in Jacksonville

Jaguars first-round pick Reggie Nelson arrived at the club's facilities on Sunday and sat down with reporters in the cafeteria at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.

Nelson seems like a fun, engaging guy. Perhaps you'll see a Q&A with Nelson in tomorrow's editions of the Florida Times-Union.

Stay tuned.
