Wright On

Florida Times-Union reporter Michael C. Wright covers the ins and outs of the Jacksonville Jaguars. In this blog, he'll share behind-the-scenes anecdotes not published within the pages of the T-U, in addition to offering up incessant ramblings about nothing such as road trips, crummy hotels and not-so-delicious press box food. Perhaps he'll even delve into serious discussions about NFL issues. So ask questions, participate in conversations, or just learn more about the Jags.

Meester out 8-10 weeks

Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio originally thought center Brad Meester rolled his right ankle during Monday's night workout at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.

As it turns out, the injury was worse. Meester has a cracked bone in his right ankle. The prognosis is eight-to-10 weeks after surgery, according to team officials. Dennis Norman will start in his place.

Meester's injury evokes memories of last season, when the Jaguars finished the year with 15 players on the injured reserve.

What do you guys think?

Your thoughts on Tim Couch

Now that the Jaguars have signed Tim Couch, what are your thoughts? After all, he hasn't played a down in a regular-season NFL game since 2003. He's reportedly said that if he didn't catch on with a team after this comeback attempt, he'll call it quits.

Does Couch have a legitimate shot of making this team? Or is he just a camp arm?

Let us know what you think. Also, check out Vito Stellino's story in tomorrow's Florida Times-Union and www.jacksonville.com
