Wright On

Florida Times-Union reporter Michael C. Wright covers the ins and outs of the Jacksonville Jaguars. In this blog, he'll share behind-the-scenes anecdotes not published within the pages of the T-U, in addition to offering up incessant ramblings about nothing such as road trips, crummy hotels and not-so-delicious press box food. Perhaps he'll even delve into serious discussions about NFL issues. So ask questions, participate in conversations, or just learn more about the Jags.

Teal? Black? Who cares!

It appears that Jacksonville is in the national news once again, but for some reason, this doesn't seem to be the type of news Jags fans should be happy about.

http://myespn.go.com/blogs/hashmarks/0-3-489/Controversy-Brewing-in-Jacksonville.html

In the blog, Mosley calls Wal-mart a fashion outlet? C'mon. Maybe that's true for the majority of the "professionals" (I couldn't find the sarcasm font) on our local radio that seem to be making a bigger deal of this than it really is. The truth is, who cares what fans wear to games? Just come. That's all this franchise needs right now.

The Jaguars suits say fans should wear teal while the players are saying black. Well, the Jags' suits really aren't in the position to tell fans what to wear. They should probably be concentrating on selling tickets. As for the players, do you think they won't play as hard if you don't wear what they want? Probably not.

So just come to the game, make a lot of noise and have a great time watching what should be a great game.

Leftwich in for Falcons

According to ESPN.com, former Jags quarterback Byron Leftwich is expected to start for the Falcons on Sunday when they travel to New Orleans.

With Leftwich in the lineup for Atlanta, will the Falcons improve? What do you guys think?

In limited action earlier this season, Leftwich didn't fare well when replacing Joey Harrington. In that game, Leftwich completed 2 of 8 for 28 yards and an interception.

Q&A problems

Obviously, there was a problem with the Rashean Mathis Q&A that ran today on www.jacksonville.com

The problem, I'm informed by our techies, will be corrected soon. This is hard to explain, but basically, when the "cut-and-paste" function is used on the computer, sometimes our equipment has trouble translating the words, especially when different fonts are being used. What happens is that the computer doesn't recognize certain characters (apostrophes, certain letters, etc.) and either changes it into some type of weird character or deletes it all together.

So we apologize about the computer issues. They'll be corrected soon.
